Shekou District in Shenzhen is the birthplace and experimental field of China’s‘Reform and Opening Up’. Taiziwan Building constructed by China Merchants Group not only heritages history but also wishes for a better future. This project is located in the core area of Shekou District. With its unique geographical advantages, it becomes another important fulcrum of "The Belt and Road" national strategy. The project consists of a tower with a height of 380 meters and a series of podium buildings. The total constructed area is around 1.7 million square meters. With the concept of "One Bay, Three Blocks, City in City", a large super high-rise building that integrated with different industries such as cruise port, headquarters base, cultural and creative industries, education and medical service, and conferences and exhibitions. It is the "number one project" of China Merchants Group, which will become a landmark building in the Shenzhen Taiziwan area and " The Tallest Building in the Shenzhen Taiziwan Area" after completion.

This project, with its strong product strength, has been awarded the LEED BD+C Platinum certificate issued by U.S.GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL (USGBC), becoming the first high-rise building in the Shekou area of Shenzhen with a height of over 300m to receive LEED Platinum Certification.
China Merchants Group aims to achieve 'Breakthrough, Precise, Ingenuity’, creating a representative demonstration project with the highest standards. This project will be constructed by China Construction Second Engineering Bureau Co. Ltd. The design of the tower comes from the idea of sails and ribs inspired by the lighthouse. By using the power of nature, incorporating cutting-edge technological innovation, and driven by parameterized mathematical algorithms, the shape of the building’s sail and ribs are combined with modern architectural physics analysis methods to achieve controllable overall project cost. The top of the tower is designed as a sharp arc that can help to reduce wind load. The highest point of the tower is the luminescent crystal device, creating a "lighthouse" effect to guide direction and create sustainable, more human-centered super high-rise buildings.
In terms of facade design, the curtain wall panels gradually change into rectangular curtain wall units at the top of the tower as the tower shape changes, further enhancing the appearance of the "kaleidoscope". With the internal lighting effect, the exterior facade can also present different light and shadow.
The exterior facade of the podium building is made of pre-fabricated metal panels, and that echoes the tower facade. Sunlight and air enter the garden style dining space, creating a unique place that not only provides a natural environment for visitors but also offers a beautiful view of Taiziwan area for the guests.
