Xingfa,a curtain wall supplier, has continued to conduct innovative R&D.
Compared with traditional buildings, building curtain walls serve as an outer protective structure that integrates architectural technology, art, and function. Curtain walls are considered an important symbol of modern architectural culture, individuality, art, and science.
1. Classification by structure
①Frame-supported Curtain Wall
This refers to curtain walls installed after being manufactured in the workshop, transported to the construction site, and then assembled on the building structure component by component following the proper steps.
②Unitized Curtain Wall
This system refers to basic curtain wall units that consist of various panels and supporting frames, fully manufactured in the factory and ready to be directly installed on the main structure of the building. It can be further divided into unitized curtain walls, semi-unitized glass curtain walls, small unitized curtain walls, etc.
③Photovoltaic Curtain Wall
The solar photovoltaic curtain wall converts light energy into electrical energy by embedding a solar battery between two layers of glass.
④Point-supported curtain wall
This type is composed of glass panels, point-supporting devices, and supporting structures, and is referred to as a point-supported curtain wall.
2. Classification by material
①Glass Curtain Wall
This refers to an outer protective or decorative structure of a building that has certain displacement capabilities relative to the main structure and does not share the load of the main structure. Glass curtain walls can be single-layer or double-layered. They represent a beautiful and novel method of architectural wall decoration and are a hallmark of modernist high-rise architecture.
②Metal Curtain Wall
Composed of metal panels and a supporting structure system, a metal curtain wall functions as an outer protective or decorative structure. Like glass curtain walls, it has a certain displacement capacity and does not bear the load of the main structure. Aluminum alloy panels are the most commonly used metal material for curtain walls.
③Stone Curtain Wall
This type typically consists of stone panels and a supporting structure (such as beams, columns, steel structures, and connectors). It serves as an outer protective or decorative structure that also does not share the load of the main structure.
Additionally, glass curtain walls can also be classified by their structural styles: concealed frame, semi-concealed frame, exposed frame, point-supported, all-glass, etc.
Building curtain walls has developed rapidly in China due to increasingly mature technology and diverse styles. With their beautiful and varied appearances, new curtain walls enhance modern architecture, complement the surrounding environment, and become a high-tech cultural landscape that beautifies cities. In response to policy and customer demands, curtain walls are improving and advancing toward low-carbon and energy-efficient designs. New curtain wall products are becoming more diverse with the adoption of new materials and technologies.
As a witness to the development of China’s curtain wall industry, Xingfa has developed a representative technological innovation in curtain walls: the intelligent ‘hook-type’ curtain wall system. This product was created after numerous rounds of design, application, and improvement. The system innovates and enhances the overall technology of frame curtain walls, and it is effectively compatible with unitized curtain walls. As an original Chinese technology with distinctive Chinese characteristics, it significantly improves the overall performance and comprehensive benefits of curtain walls.
Xingfa has continued to conduct innovative research and development based on actual conditions, and today, these curtain wall products have been used in thousands of projects both domestically and internationally.
