How to Evaluate Aluminium Windows & Doors:

Tip 1: Material

Aluminium windows and doors consist of three primary components: profiles, glass, and metal hardware. While purchasers often focus solely on profile and glass thickness, the quality of metal hardware is equally important yet frequently overlooked. National standards have been established for aluminium windows and doors, dictating specifications for hardness, strength, and anodized film. For instance, these standards mandate that window profiles should have a thickness equal to or greater than 1.2mm and an anodized film thickness of up to 10μm. Tempered glass and high-quality stainless steel hardware ensure durability and safety, as stainless steel offers superior physical properties compared to aluminium. Additionally, the use of POM for wheel materials is recommended due to its abrasion resistance, hardness, and durability.

Tip 2: Process

Just as good ingredients make for excellent cooking, the technology behind aluminium windows and doors is commonplace, necessitating skilled assembly. Therefore, the assembly process requires meticulous craftsmanship. Superior quality windows and doors exhibit smooth cuts and perfect angles (typically 45° or 90°). They should have minimal gaps after assembly, providing effective sealing and unhindered opening and closing. Conversely, faulty or inferior products may suffer from sealing and leakage issues, posing risks such as bursting or falling off during inclement weather, thereby endangering lives and causing property damage.

Tip 3: Appearance

While consumers often prioritize exterior designs and paint finishes when selecting aluminium windows and doors, they tend to overlook the composite membrane. This synthetic film is alkali-resistant, abrasion-resistant, glossy, and fireproof. Therefore, it's advisable to compare products horizontally and evaluate glass craftsmanship based on personal preferences.

Tip 4: Price

The cost of windows and doors is closely tied to the price of aluminium ingots, resulting in relatively stable prices over time. Generally, quality aluminium windows and doors command premium prices. In contrast, inferior products may be crafted from recyclable aluminium scraps with thicknesses typically ranging from 0.6mm to 0.8mm, falling short of national standards for tensile and yield strength. Such products are insecure and unsafe, making it crucial for property owners to resist the temptation of cheaper options that compromise safety.

Product functions are contingent on their intended environments, with several key factors to consider:

Hardness: Determines the material's ability to withstand pressure.

Airtightness: Relies on the sealing structure between sashes and frames.

Waterproofing: Evidenced by water leakage or seepage.

Soundproofing: Determined by the use of hollow glass.

Additionally, aspects such as rubber strips, thermal insulation, durability of nylon wheels, and lock mechanisms should also be evaluated.
