When purchasing windows and doors, the notion that the best-known brand or the highest price guarantees the best quality is not necessarily true. In fact, a common understanding is that the quality of windows and doors comprises 30% material quality and 70% installation techniques. Even if the products are expensive, if the installation fails to meet standards, the user experience will be compromised.

While window and door installations require specialized skills and can be complex, there are still some tips for homeowners to ensure that the installation is done properly:

1. Surface: Many people overlook the aesthetic properties of windows and doors, focusing solely on their functionality. It is essential to examine the surface color, brightness, and shape for any deformities or scratches, using a ruler if necessary.

2. Sealing Strips: After inspecting the surface, the next step is to check for air-tightness. Sealing strips should be flat with grooves and notches and should not be folded or detached. Aluminum profiles should tightly adhere to the glass, with the gap between frames and sashes typically smaller than 2mm. If gaps are too obvious or wide, it's advisable to request repairs.

3. Frame: The installation of frames directly affects the window's hardness. Therefore, frame examination should include assessing hardness, tightness, and stability. Before installation, use a bubble level to measure the vertical angle, with reasonable tolerances of 2.5mm vertically, 5mm horizontally, and 5mm at the center. If errors exceed these tolerances, further repairs or replacements may be necessary.

4. Locks: Locks are crucial for safety. Ensure that the locks are installed properly and in the correct position.

5. Metal Hardware: Lastly, test the flexibility of metal hardware by opening and closing the windows and doors several times. If hinges and handles do not function properly, they should be replaced immediately.

Conducting a thorough examination of the final product is essential to prevent problems during future use. By following these guidelines, homeowners can ensure that their windows and doors are installed correctly and function effectively.
